Commoflage 75: Jonas & Robert IV

You weren’t far off. The LN2 track on Reformation is heavily influenced by ”Beat Dis” by Bomb the Bass.

Incidentally, the Xenon 2: Megablast title track is a fairly accurate remake of the Bomb the Bass track ”Megablast (Hip-hop on Precinct 13)” – which in turn uses the riff from John Carpenters ”Assault on Precint 13” soundtrack.

Tim Simenon of Bomb The Bass was also a member of ”Nation 12” who wrote ”Into the wonderful” used in the game ”Gods”. The CD version of the track is on their album ”Electrofear” from 1991.

@Jan: That explains the confusion when I thought it was taken from Megablast but couldn’t find it. It is indeed in Beat Dis.

  4. Jonas Hultén says:

On top of this, I though that Megablast was ripped off from Mark Shreeve – Assassin, but that was made way later than John Carpenter’s track so it must be another ripoff!

Never heard of Mark Shreeve, but the evidence that Bomb the Bass used John Carpenters tune is right in the full title of the track – ”Megablast (Hip-Hop on Precinct 13)”
